West Tampa Little League

A nine‑year‑old girl’s letter to Tampa’s mayor has prompted renovations to one of West Tampa Little League’s fields at MacFarlane Park, enabling multipurpose use for both baseball and softball. The field will be upgraded to accommodate softball alongside existing baseball programs, marking a move toward greater equity in youth sports access. The initiative coincides with recent grant funding, and included support from a volunteer group—the Princeton University rowing team—who assisted with the project during their winter practice in Tampa. These renovations align with the club’s ongoing efforts to support baseball and softball opportunities for children in West Tampa.
