Olathe West baseball has secured a spot in the Kansas state championship games after overcoming significant challenges this season. The team endured past adversity, including a 2019 on‑field cardiac arrest experienced by pitcher Brennan Connell and the 2020 loss of an assistant coach to COVID‑19, yet rallied under strong community support. A sendoff organized by the booster club took place at Olathe West High School, highlighting the community’s resolve.
