A new padel centre, Padel Power, has opened at Kingsfield Business Park in Kings Heath, Northampton, featuring nine courts and launching both men’s and women’s Northampton Padel Leagues. Approximately 180 men and 92 women have signed up, with organisers targeting greater female participation through doubles partner matching. Padel is increasingly described by the Lawn Tennis Association as the fastest-growing racquet sport globally and the club’s co‑owners emphasise its accessibility compared to tennis. The arrival of this facility expands local racquet sport options, as previously Northampton had only one other club offering padel courts.
