High school softball action returned to Shawnee, Kansas, during the inaugural Midwest High School Invite held at the Mid America West Sports Complex August 29–30. The two-day tournament featured elite programs from Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Colorado competing in both high-scoring offensive displays and tight defensive matchups. Teams like Blue Springs (MO) posted dominant performances with a 17–7 win, while Park Hill (MO) edged Bellevue East 1–0 in a pitching duel. The event underscored the region’s growing profile in competitive softball, offering local athletes an elevated stage for development and exposure that could benefit organizations like Line Drive Baseball Academy.
