The Junior Optimist Baseball League (JOBL) in Concord has reported a significant burglary at its sports complex on April 13, 2024, resulting in the loss of more than $15,000 in essential equipment. Among the stolen items were an ATV, utility trailer, generators, water pumps, tools, and batteries, according to league officials and local news reports. The theft occurred shortly after JOBL had launched its spring season on March 16, signaling a difficult setback for the nonprofit youth baseball and softball organization. COMMUNITY members have responded with the launch of an online fundraiser to assist in replacing the stolen equipment and ensuring the season continues uninterrupted. The league is actively pursuing surveillance video in cooperation with nearby businesses to aid the investigation.
