Suffolk County police are investigating the theft of seven aluminum bleachers from a Sachem Little League complex in Ronkonkoma. Sachem Youth Athletic Group Commissioner Bob Cummings confirmed the benches, each weighing approximately 300 pounds and valued at nearly $10,000, were removed from Smith Field, and noted that the league currently lacks the resources to replace them. Investigators traced a trail of broken bleacher components leading to a neighboring property, though nothing was found at the residence. Authorities have urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
