Regional attention has turned to high school girls soccer in Quincy following the season opener between Quincy and Coldwater. The Coldwater squad secured a narrow 5–4 victory over the Quincy team in a high-scoring contest dubbed “The Battle of the Birds.” Quincy’s Laura Bostic delivered an impressive performance with a hat trick, while Kenzie Maynard also found the net. Despite the loss, Quincy demonstrated offensive spirit and competitive promise early in their season.
