McDermott Baseball

McDermott Baseball is part of the McDermott Athletic Center, which is pursuing a significant facility enhancement. In June 2025, the center’s owner presented plans to the Rio Rancho Planning and Zoning Board for a new 16,000-square-foot turf field adjacent to the existing baseball and softball batting cages. The proposal, intended to address a local shortage of athletic space, received unanimous approval from the board and now awaits final authorization from the Rio Rancho Governing Body. This expansion would support youth baseball, softball, and several other sports. The club continues to emphasize its role in serving community needs through infrastructure improvement.
