A lion dance troupe sparked public debate after performers were captured standing and leaping on tables at Cheng San Market hawker centre in Ang Mo Kio during a Chinese New Year show. The troupe defended the act, explaining that elevated surfaces were used due to space constraints and emphasised that tables were cleaned both before and after the performance to address hygiene concerns. Organisers noted no objections were raised by stall owners or attending members of the public during the event.
