Girls Take the Field

Girls Take the Field flag football league, operating in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan under SNAPtivities, concluded its most recent season with a team from the metro Detroit area securing the league title. The championship roster featured players who had not previously competed together and came from different schools, underscoring the program’s inclusive reach. League founder Genevieve Caffelli, who initiated the all‑girls flag football division in 2020, noted the rapid expansion of the league to serve over 350 participants per season. The spring season ran from mid‑April through early June and welcomed girls across grade levels to compete and develop their skills in a structured environment. The league continues to grow as Michigan’s first all‑girls flag football initiative.
