Fort Mill High School’s softball team, the Yellow Jackets, commenced their season with a commanding 8‑4 victory over North Carolina’s Charlotte Catholic. The team’s strong performance on March 2 reflected offseason preparation, with pitchers Haley Rogers and Elaina Hildebrand combining effectively. Rogers delivered a dominant outing with 13 strikeouts over six innings, while Hildebrand secured the game with five strikeouts over the final two innings. At the plate, Verastegui recorded three hits and an RBI, supported by multi‑hit performances from Beebe, Cullings and Moore.
