Elk Grove Baseball

Elk Grove Baseball continued its tradition of excellence as the Thundering Herd secured the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division II championship with a 5–4 victory over Rodriguez at Sacramento City College. The win, achieved on May 22, 2026, marks the program’s 12th section title, a record in the region, and the first for head coach Joe Bellotti since assuming the top role. Key contributors included senior Chase Groves, who recorded two hits and three RBIs, and Tristen Bartlett, who added three hits and three runs scored. Elk Grove improves to a 27–6 season record and will advance to compete in Northern California sectional competition next.
