The Town of Hempstead has approved a major upgrade at East Meadow High School, centered on the existing baseball field. The project includes conversion of the baseball field’s infield to synthetic turf, installation of new chain‑link backstops, dugouts, fencing, bleachers, and a scoreboard, plus added field lighting and a batting/bullpen area. Landscaping updates include removal of shrubs along the west side and new concrete walkways. The improvements aim to modernize the facility and expand usability across weather conditions. The school district determined the work will not have significant environmental impact.
