East Greenbush Babe Ruth programs are set to benefit from a regional youth baseball development shift announced by the East Greenbush Castleton Youth Baseball League. The league confirmed that, following the conclusion of the 2026 season, it will transition its baseball program from Little League to Cal Ripken Baseball, a division of Babe Ruth League, Inc. The move is intended to enhance player development, introduce 50/70 field dimensions for the Majors division, and improve alignment with area programs and high school pathways. Existing recreational, travel, and All-Star programs will remain unchanged through the 2026 season. The league emphasized its continued commitment to community recreation during the upcoming changes.
