The Fencers Academy

Des Peres Parks and Recreation recently launched a six-week fencing course taught by The Fencers Academy’s renowned head coach Hossam Hassan, offering training for beginners and advanced participants ages five and up. The Saturday morning classes, held from May 2 through June 13 at The Lodge Gymnasium, cover fundamentals such as footwork, blade work, distance, timing, and supervised bouts using all three weapons. The program provides all necessary equipment and accommodates up to 20 participants per session. The initiative serves as a regional extension of The Fencers Academy’s mission to promote Olympic-style fencing instruction in the Greater St. Louis area.
