Club Tijuana’s Xolos Academy FC continues to expand its presence in Chula Vista by conducting tryouts from April 14 to April 17 for boys in the Under‑15 to Under‑18 age categories, held at Hilltop High School’s football field. Over 50 athletes attended the opening day’s trials. The program, overseen by Club Tijuana’s Under‑17 coach Ignacio Ruvalcaba, emphasizes fitness and soccer‑specific drills aimed at identifying talent for progression into Tijuana’s “Fuerzas Básicas” development structure. The Royal Academy, while not directly linked to these tryouts, remains part of the region’s broader youth soccer landscape.
