The Boston Metro Baseball League (BMBL), the largest amateur baseball league in New England, has announced a significant expansion ahead of its 2026 season, growing from 37 to at least 51 teams—a 37.8% increase. The league’s growth includes a new 45+ division and a 35+ Central Massachusetts division formed through the integration of teams from the former Boston Amateur Baseball League’s 45+ division. This expansion further diversifies age-based competition and enhances regional opportunities for players across Greater Boston, including the Waltham area, where Baseball Unlimited operates as a local indoor training and league venue. The development contributes positively to the region’s baseball infrastructure and player development.
