The Kewanee Boiler Girls softball team secured a decisive 11‑1 victory over the Newman Central Catholic Varsity Comets at Northeast Park on May 6, 2026. The club built an early advantage, with Addy Yepsen, Lyric Duytschayver and Audrey Clucas contributing offensively in the second inning. Kalleigh Gale delivered a strong pitching performance, striking out nine batters and allowing only one run and three hits over five innings. The team registered a total of 13 hits, led by Kieryn Abernathy’s two RBIs. The Boiler Girls improved their record to 15‑6 overall and 8‑1 in the TRAC East conference, and are scheduled to face Brimfield next at Northeast Park.
