Wilmington Sharks

As the summer collegiate season approaches, the Wilmington Sharks are actively seeking additional host families to accommodate out‑of‑town players, with opening day scheduled for May 29. Head coach Russ Burroughs emphasized that roughly 80% of players rely on host families to make participation possible, describing them as vital to the team’s operations. The need is pressing; without sufficient housing, some players may have to be released. Host families are asked to provide basic necessities like a bed, laundry access, and meals, typically hosting players from late May through July or early August. The initiative underscores the importance of community support in sustaining the team’s roster and competitiveness.
