A major upgrade to the baseball and softball facilities at Branch Brook Park in Newark and Belleville has recently been completed, enhancing year-round usability for youth and adult players. The renovation includes a new drainage system, synthetic infields across three fields—including a full-size baseball field and two Little League/softball fields—while maintaining natural grass in the outfields. The project also added new fencing, covered dugouts, spectator bleachers, accessible pathways, and landscaping. Funded by the Essex County Recreation and Open Space Trust Fund and American Rescue Plan grants, the improvements were conducted under public works oversight. D‑BAT Newark continues to serve as a premier indoor training academy in the area, complementing these upgraded outdoor amenities.
