Diamond Instincts Baseball remains a notable institution in Northbrook’s baseball and softball community, while local youth received recent opportunities to engage with the sport. On April 24, the Northbrook Park District hosted a free MLB Pitch, Hit & Run competition at Techny Prairie Park and Fields for players aged 7 to 14, offering local athletes a chance to advance to regional championships and potentially compete during a World Series event. The event showcased Northbrook’s vibrant baseball culture, of which Diamond Instincts Baseball forms part. Local standout youth such as Austin Mats, a four-time age-group winner, and his sister Skylar participated, illustrating the depth of talent in the area.
