Minnesota United FC’s reserve side, MNUFC2, secured a 4‑2 road victory over Austin FC II, led by forward Marcus Caldeira’s remarkable professional debut hat trick. All three goals came in the first half — in the 3rd minute, 21st minute and a successful penalty in the 39th minute — marking the first hat trick in a season opener in MNUFC2’s five‑year history. Caldeira, the club’s 2024 first‑round SuperDraft pick, signed with the Loons’ organization in late January and now leads MNUFC2 in scoring just weeks into his pro career.
