The Junior Optimist Baseball League (JOBL) in Concord recently confronted a major setback following a burglary on April 13, 2024, when over $15,000 worth of essential equipment—including an ATV, utility trailer, generator, water pumps, batteries, tools and related items—was stolen from league facilities. The incident occurred shortly after the spring season began on March 16, 2024, and the league initiated community fundraising efforts to replace lost assets and sustain operations for youth baseball and softball participants. JOBL serves approximately one thousand players across around 80 to 85 teams annually, and continues to support travel and invitational tournament participation as part of its program offerings. The club remains focused on restoring full functionality for players in upcoming seasons.
