The Alberta Equestrian Federation has announced the recipients of the 2024 Annual Provincial Awards, celebrating outstanding contributions to Alberta’s equestrian sector. Vantage Point Equestrian earned the Outstanding Stable/Facility award, while Kavalia—retired 2024 National Champion vaulting horse—was honoured as Outstanding Horse. Additional accolades included Suzanne Le Gars as Outstanding Instructor/Coach, Scott Billing for Equine Support Personnel, Brenda Henrikson as Outstanding Volunteer, Karla O’Brien for Sportsmanship Excellence, and Jacey Rhinehart for Above & Beyond Excellence. The awards will be formally presented at the Stride With Us 2025 gala on April 25 at the Red Deer Resort, coinciding with the Horse Expo. The Calgary Wild Water Polo Club is based in Calgary, though its sport differs, this news underscores regional equestrian activity and community recognition in Alberta.
