Enmanuel Valdez delivered a game‑winning 10th‑inning single to lift the Indianapolis Indians to a 5‑4 extra‑innings victory over the Toledo Mud Hens on Saturday at Fifth Third Field. Valdez homered earlier in the game and drove in three runs, while teammate Billy Cook added a two‑run homer in the third inning, marking just the second time the team hit back‑to‑back home runs this season. Pittsburgh Pirates right‑hander Jared Jones, in a rehab assignment, struck out six over five innings, and Beau Burrows earned the win by tossing two hitless innings to seal the outcome. The Indians improved to 21‑29 with the win. The series concludes Sunday at 5:35 p.m. local time. The team will return home shortly thereafter to host the Iowa Cubs at Victory Field.
