Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club

Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club has initiated a crowdfunding campaign aimed at expanding its Sailability programme by acquiring a refurbished RS Venture Connect dinghy and hoist system to enhance accessibility for sailors with disabilities and individuals seeking a more stable sailing platform. The project has already received notable support, including a £1,000 donation from Consett Rotary Club. The club, situated on the border of Northumberland and County Durham, offers a variety of water sports such as windsurfing, paddleboarding, kayaking and open‑water swimming. Its efforts are supported by accomplished sailors Adam Bilaney and Jazz Turner, both of whom have secured gold medals at the 2025 RS Venture Connect European Championships.
